NATO Wellness Center: Chicago Action Medical and the Healing Justice Network are organizing emergency first aid and wellness support for actions against the NATO summit May 14-21 (and throughout the Chicago Spring). The Wellness Center is located at Grace Place (637 S. Dearborn) and will be staffed by volunteer street medics and clinicians who can provide emergency first aid, chemical decontamination, health consultation, herbal remedies, body work, massage, and more. The Center opens May 14.

This will be atwo-day conference sponsored by Occupy Chicago and the Coalition Against the NATO/G-8 War and Poverty Agenda in opposition to NATO and the G-8. “This event will host a wide range of workshop presenters to help educate our communities against war and poverty, mobilize for radical democracy, and present alternative visions of the future in a world without NATO/G-8.” This will take place at 500 W. Cermak in Chicago.

12:00pm - 1:30pm Protest the Global 1% march organized by National Nurses United (at Daley Plaza), and joined by healthcare, labor and other community activists, and guests from other G-8 nations, will reconstruct Camp David in Chicago and conduct a search for the missing G8 leaders. A centerpiece of the day is the call on world leaders to adopt national and international Robin Hood financial transaction taxes on major trading by banks and other financial institutions to raise revenue critically needed for revitalizing the economic health of the U.S. and other G8 nations.
