Check out some of the ways that GGJ members commemorated May Day this week with a wide spectrum of activities across the US and in Canada:

Vermont Workers Center brought thousands out to a Put People First Rally in Montpelier, VT. 

Domestic Workers United took to the streets of NYC and lifted up the 1 percent's disregard for domestic workers

Malcolm X Grassroots Movement launched the No More Trayvon Martins Campaign to demand the implementation of a National Plan of Action for Racial Justice.

United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS) held sit-ins for workers rights by occupying the President's office of Rutgers University and the University of Texas Tower.

Southwest Workers Union (SWU) hosted an International Workers Day Celebration in honor of past and present workers.

Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), Causa Justa::Just Cause, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, People Organized to Win Employment Rights (POWER) and People Organizing to Demand Economic & Environmental Rights (PODER) took to the streets of San Francisco, and joined the Oakland Oakland Sin Fronteras' contingent in the March for Immigrant Rights.

Members of the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (NNIRR) took action in Oakland, New York City, and Tucson, AZ and on Thursday May 3 will attend UNDOCUNATION, an evening with artists for immigrant justice.

Indigenous Environmental Network launched the Freedom Train 2012 against the Endbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline and tanker project, from the Pacific Coast of Canada to Toronto's financial district.
