GGJ MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY FEBRUARY 26-28, 2010 MIAMI
See you in sunny Miami, the home of the Root Cause Alliance that fought against the FTAA and the home of our host organization the Miami Workers Center!
This year is a big one for GGJ as we are celebrating our 5th year as a membership alliance and the 10th anniversary of the World Social Forum.
We'll be bringing international allies from the Hemispheric Social Alliance and the World March of Women, as well as resource allies from Movement Generation and War Times to discuss opportunities for convergence at the US Social Forum and beyond.
Arrival and Departure: Your delegate(s) should expect to be at the assembly for the full time beginning Friday, February 26 at 9am through Sunday the 26th at 1pm. Coordinating Committee Members and Facilitation Team should arrive in time for prep meeting on Thursday February 25 from 1pm – 5pm.
Agenda: The Facilitation Team – Joo-Hyun Kang, Jorge Glackman, Jen Soriano, Cindy Wiesner, Michael Guerrero, Steve Williams, and Mónica Cordova – will send a draft agenda for input the first week of February. If you would like to join the agenda committee please email cindy@ggjalliance.org
Subsidies: GGJ will cover airfare, lodging and food during the meetings for one representative of your organization. We are limiting participation to 3 per organization. We ask that at least one of your representatives be a person who is playing an active leadership and decision-making role in your organization.
Airline Travel Subsidy: West Coast and Southwest $350, Midwest and Northeast $300, South $250. NOTE: If you do not make travel arrangements with Jo Ann (see below) by Feb. 15, your airline travel subsidy will go down by $75.
Airline tickets: You can fly into Fort Lauderdale Airport or Miami International Airport. We will provide transportation to and from the airports. We have contracted with Jo Ann Gutierrez Bejar to purchase airline tickets for the membership assembly. Please send her your preferred itinerary, she will do her best to accommodate the request but she will look for the best prices for the ticket.

Lodging: We are working with the Miami Workers Center to identify lodging and a meeting location. We will send that information once we confirm it.
Registration: Return the attached registration form to cindy@gggjalliance.org by Friday, January 29. There will be a registration fee of $50 per organization. This will only partially offset the costs of the logistics for the Assembly.
Membership Dues: If you have not paid your dues for 2010 please do so ASAP. You must be a member in good standing in order to vote. If you are not able to do so due to financial limitations, please contact either cindy@ggjalliance.org or michael@ggalliance.org
