Political Education Organizer
DrewChristopher Joy (he/they) has been an organizer, facilitator, and trainer for the past 20 years. Before joining GGJ’s Political Education Team, Drew spent a decade at the Southern Maine Workers’ Center (SMWC) in several roles including the Executive Director and the Leadership Development Coordinator. While at SMWC, Drew served on GGJ’s Coordinating Committee. Prior to their move back to their home state of Maine, Drew organized in Philadelphia, New Orleans, and San Francisco. Drew was trained as an organizer in by the Catalyst Project’s five month Anne Braden Program and through a two-year organizing apprenticeship with POWER: People Organized to Win Employment Rights in San Francisco. Drew is a dance music geek and sometimes DJ.
