Political and Civic Engagement Director

Kermit Thomas Jr. is an organizer, activist, and resource mobilizer who resides in Atlanta, Georgia and has worked, over the last decade, in service to progressive political and nonprofit spaces. His past work has been with organizations (the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Black Voters Matter, Save the Children, TNC, Cease-Fire PA, etc.) analyzing and creating policy, mobilizing Black, Brown, and Native voters, fundraising for specific campaigns and candidates, and lobbying against potentially harmful federal and local legislation. In each of his previous roles, he has approached progressive work with the intention of prioritizing the voices and experiences of the Black, brown, and Native ancestors and descendants who are directly responsible for building this country without recognition, appreciation, or support. The most important thing that he has ever accomplished is becoming a father in November of 2021.
