The Grassroots Feminism team is thrilled to launch our International Feminist Organizing School (IFOS). The school is inspired by the courageous feminist leadership of Brown, Black, Indigenous, non-binary and queer women from around the world, who are creating pathways for equity and justice.
“A feminist economy centers life, respects bodily autonomy of all women and transforms systems of oppression,” said Sandra Morán, a trailblazing Guatemalan queer feminist and former parliamentarian, who is leading this School. As a global pandemic devastates frontline communities globally and exacerbates existing structural inequities that disproportionately affect BIPOC women, it is critical to rethink and reimagine business as usual tactics and false solutions.
The IFOS is a collaboration between Grassroots Global Justice Alliance, the World March of Women, Grassroots International and Indigenous Environmental Network, four organizations that are deeply committed to a global feminist awakening and just transition to a regenerative feminist economy.
Currently the School’s key working groups, include: 1) Body and Sexuality 2) Feminist Economy 3) Movement Building 4) State and Democracy 5) Defense of Mother Earth 6) Systems of Oppression
